The ExoLuminate Study

A clinical study for those at risk for developing pancreatic cancer

You have the power to help change how we treat pancreatic cancer.

If you have a history of pancreatic cancer in your family, you know better than anyone that it’s among the most challenging cancers for doctors to treat – and for patients to fight.

That’s because pancreatic cancer is most often diagnosed when symptoms present in the later stages of disease, in Stage 3 or Stage 4, leaving patients and their doctors with limited options. To address this challenge, Biological Dynamics is developing a test to detect pancreatic cancer as early as Stage 1.

By joining the clinical study of our test, you’ll be playing an important role in improving the lives of those affected by pancreatic cancer and bringing hope to millions of families.

Who’s at risk for pancreatic cancer

There are several factors that could put you at increased risk for pancreatic cancer:

Modifiable risk factors

  • Tobacco use
  • Alcohol use (> 3 drinks daily)
  • Obesity BMI (> 40)
  • Diet high in red and processed meats

Non-modifiable risk factors

  • Race and ethnicity (higher incidence in African American and Ashkenazi Jewish populations)
  • Advancing Age (over > 50 years)
  • Cystic lesions on the pancreas
  • Diabetes Type 2 (long-standing and new-onset)
  • Pancreatitis (acute, chronic or familial)
  • Family history of pancreatic cancer
  • Personal history or strong family history of other cancer types: breast, ovarian or colon cancer or malignant melanoma
  • Inherited genetic mutations and syndrome

A high-sensitivity test for a high-risk population †

The new investigational test by Biological Dynamics is powered by a patented technology that detects exosomes. Exosomes are made and released by tumor cells and contain tumor signatures. A test that can identify or measure these exosomes may be effective in early, non-invasive detection, prognosis and treatment monitoring of many types of cancer.
